12-2: Opening Banquet, Walker Memorial Meet your fellow ChemE peers and industry professionals over a buffet lunch beginning at 12. At 1 pm, the Northeast Regional conference officially kicks off with a welcome address from our keynote speaker, Dr. Kimberly Ritrievi. |
2:30-3:15: Presidents’ Meeting, Building 66, room 154 All chapter presidents should attend this meeting to meet one another and gain insight into the workings of other AIChE branches. |
2:30-3:15: Advisors’ Meeting, Building 66, room 156 All chapter advisors present should plan to attend this gathering. |
2:30-4: Career Fair, Building 66, 3rd floor lobby Learn more about the companies and graduate schools in the chemE industry at this casual, relaxed career fair. Chat with representatives and find out about future job opportunities. |

Sunday, March 8: Northeastern University Campus |
7-8:30: Continental Breakfast, Curry Student Center (CSC) Indoor Quad Fuel up for your second day with a catered breakfast and another chance to talk to other students. Explore the Northeastern campus before Round Two of the conference. |
8-8:30: ChemE Car Safety Meeting, CSC Ballroom Mandatory meeting for those competing in the Chem-E-Car competition later in the day. This will review the safety precautions all teams shall take during car preparation and operation during the competition. |
8-10: ChemE Jeopardy, CSC Fourth Floor (442, 444, 448) Come watch or compete in high-energy rounds of jeopardy! Topics range from heat transfer, to process control, to safety, and everything in between. The winning teams from this competition will advance to the national competition. |
10-12: ChemE Car Poster Competition, CSC Indoor Quad Each Chem-E-Car team will present a poster describing the chemical reactions of the cars, as well as the design process behind each one. Come and ask questions and learn about the cars that will be competing in the afternoon. |
10-12: Student Workshops and Seminars, CSC McLeod Suites (318, 320, 322) Choose from the wide array of workshops and seminars that will be presented, ranging from success in undergraduate research to learning about the inspiration for a famous scientific webcomic! |
10-12: Northeastern Tours, Northeastern Campus Check out the chemical engineering labs located on Northeastern’s campus. Lab specialties will include nanotechnology, materials science, tissue engineering, and more! |
12-2: ChemE Car Competition, CSC Ballroom Come cheer on Chem-E-Car teams as they compete to power their way to the national competition using alternative fuels. Whether using zinc-air batteries, fuel cells, or combustion engines, it is sure to be an exciting event! |
2-4: Closing Banquet, 450 Dodge Hall Finish off the conference with a late lunch and one last chance to chat with other participants. Awards will also be distributed. |
